Primer surprise

Loading up a few pressure ladder rounds in my 6x250 trying to get it figured out, a primer in the tray caught my eye. The anvil is visibly higher than the rest and appears to have a little less compound! These are Federal 210, I still seated it but marked the case so I can take note of any anomalies in the data.

Never been able to sort primers by eye before, lol!

I have literally loaded thousands of small pistol, small rifle, and large rifle Federal Primers for many years.

Several years ago, I had a small rifle primer that did not ignite. When I carefully disassembled the cartridge I discovered that the primer cup had no priming compound but there was an anvil. Since then, I always visually check the primers in the primer tray before using. Never found that defect again, at least to date.

It was the farthest out of any group. It was just a coarse pressure ladder test for a new chambering that data for the powder im using doesn't exist. I haven't even looked for seating depth yet.
