primer stike is off-center

Just got a new rifle and today noticed while sighting it in that the primer is not being hit in the center by firing pin.....

Never had to deal with this one. Seems like this will negatively effect acuracy..........what to do?

Are you fire forming new brass? If you are neck size them and shoot them again, and then see how thet are.

I had a similar problem with an unnamed custom rifle. Two new rifles and neither one with centered primer strikes. After asking a bunch of knowledgable folks, the consensus was that it would not have a major effect on accuracy: it was over .020 off center. In this case, the problem was definitely the action. I ended up selling the barreled actions. My replacement Defiance actions have been flawless in every way.

I have a couple highly accurate hunting rifles that are off center. They shoot just as well as all the others that strike dead on center.

It would be interesting though to see a high speed camera comparison of the two exiting the flash hole into the case.
