Primer question

Noob question. Due to the continuing shortages and pricing will Large "Magnum" pistol primers work in a rifle case ex. 6.5 CM ?

As I understand, they are dimensionally different - rifle primers being taller than pistol and probably are thicker to withstand more pressure. Too many variables to even consider subbing them.

There is a definite possibility of piercing the primer.

Years ago there was an article about primers and IIRC it was on the Precision Shooter web page. A while back I went looking for it and I couldn't find it and the bookmark wouldn't work either. As I remember, it written by someone in Germany.

Anyway, it showed picture and provided plenty of data amongst the various primers at the time. If you can find it may be worthwhile. I can tell you I have never swapped pistol & rifle primers with each other nor have I had too.
