Primer Problem

I am starting to reload for a 22 hornet. I have been saving my brass which is Hornady. My problem is when I deprime and resize and I cant even deprime. Those boogers are in there and if I use more pressure on the press I feel it will break the pin. The only Hornady ammo I have this problem with is the primers that are silver not the brass ones. If the primers are brass colored they pop right out. If they are silver no go! Anyone se this before?

BULLET05,
If this is the 22 HORNADY HORNET the primers were staked in on the early production rounds due to pressure issues. You MAY want to 86 those as in most cases the primers wont stay in them when replaced. These issues may have been fixed by HORNADY by now.But the early stuff was a problem child.

Get a cheap Lee depriming tool and play whack a mole with the stubborn primers. Then remove the crimp and test for loose primer pockets.

You could also measure a unfired case above the rim and a fired case and check your base expansion.

I have a Lyman universal depriming die I use on my crimped military brass and if worse comes to worse you can order new pins for your standard Hornet die.
