Primer pocket cutter/ cleaner

What do you use for cutting new 6mmBr brass ? I have an older Neil Jones model, but think it about worn out. Some cases it cuts a little out and other not at all. Not like it used to be when I would get a cut out of all cases. I'm starting to prep all new blue box Lapua 6mmBr brass.
What is best method and best cutter for the job of primer pocket uniforming ? Then what do you use to clean pockets with after firings ? Same tool ?
Thanx again,
Rmist

This is the tool you will need. No need for the handle as you can just chuck the bit into a drill and go to work.

FWIW I have been using a new Redding tool recently and on new and fired Lapua .308 brass that had not been previously uniformed and I do not get cuts on every piece of Lapua brass. In measuring the primer pockets on these I find that they are pretty uniform as is. I still go through the motions but perhaps the pockets are better now than in previous lots?

After looking at the mentioned cutters. Why does Sinclair sell 2 different models, one for PPC/ BR and another for small pistol/ small rifle ? What is the difference ? Both same price.
Thanx again,
Rmist

Rmist, I use the Sinclair tool works great but on the new blue box Lapua brass you want get a cut on all due to pocket depth variation ;)

Thanx for the replies. I'll try the Sinclair model. Again thanx for the insight that the new blue box may not be shallow enough to get a cut out of. Great place to learn from those that have gone before you on the same path !!

Try not cleaning them... see if it makes a difference on the target.

I did, with and without... made no difference, so I stopped doing it.

same here.

Someone told me to try it, so I did. Like you, I saw no difference, and haven't cleaned a primer pocket since.

I still do it, but I can't show any proof that it makes tighter groups or higher scores. I use the Sinclair tool, now. I still have a very nice tool made by Whitetail Design and Engineering that works great, but it does not fit into a drill chuck. The Sinclair tool gets used on new cases, then the Whitetail tool gets cleaning duty after that. Lightman
