primer disposal

I recently deprimed some cases that were not usable. I was curious about reusing the primers or disposing of them. What is the best way to dispose of them? I hesitate to reuse the primers. Thanks

I use them for fire forming cases.

Motor oil does not kill a primer.

I've reused a whole lot of them. That is what I would definitly do in today's climate

Use them for fouling shots or plinking, not for serious competition. I dispose of them by firing the primed case (no powder or bullet) - don't throw them in the trash because they're difficult to reliably kill and they are toxic as well as an ignition hazard. Most communities have an annual event to collect hazardous and toxic materials, and that's the best way to dispose of them.

Motor oil does not kill a primer.

I'll admit I've never tried it myself but using motor oil was told to me by Dillon many years ago.

There have been multiple discussions on this site and multiple other sites.

Try yourself - immerse in your favorite oil and then let dry.

Do a search on here as it has come up many times
The oil, WD-40, etc,. doesn't work
I've de-primed hundreds of cases form primed brass I was given and could not use.
Re used those primers and can't recall one not firing.

Use your press/dies to gently push them out, don't use a punch such as a Sinclair or a Wilson even gently tapping them out with a hammer (don't ask how I know this).

Here in Oregon unwanted primers go to the State Bomb Squad and nowhere else. Had a Deputy drive 160 miles just to pick up a couple thousand SRPs that were worthless to me (Eastern Bloc crap that was way over size).
