Primer Difference

I have worked up loads using BR4, BR2, CCI lgr and CCIsmr. Now they are nonexistent or over priced. Been thinking about buying 5000 Lr and 5000Sr and saying to hell with the load development. How much change am I really going to see? I have swapped 204's for BR4 and really didn't see too much difference.

In my hunting rifles to me it really doesn't really matter because lets face it the target is pretty big, but my short range benchrest rifles it can make a big difference. I have this one caliber that if I use regular 205 or M's the groups are huge. If I use BR4's the groups are tighter than a bull's ass in fly season. The 205's just won't light that big dose of 133 like that hotter BR4 primer does.

I swap primers in pistol and rifle loads but just test over a crono.... Whatever I have on hand I use... As long as they are American made primers I never had a problem.... I have seen a speed difference in European primers in pistol being not as strong but once again a little testing solves the problem normally.... I am not shooting competition though...
