Primer crush or Jam??

My sinclair priming tool is set up to crush or jam my SR federal primers about .005 or .006 when seated into the lapua case. I know this because i have measured the primers before seating and after i have set them. What i did was measure several before i seat them and then i popped a couple out after i had set them. I measured these on a micrometer and the results were about .005 average crush. Is this to much or ok? Just curious. They shoot fine, actually very fine, at east in my ppc and 30BR. Just curious as to what you fellas think or do? Thanks Lee

I would think that measuring them after "popping" them out would be a skewed measurement as the decap pin most likely altered the primers original dimension.

I measured several and i didnt find that to be the case. I also uniform my primer pockets on my ppc and BR cases so the bottom of the pockets are flat and round. The decapping pin only touches a small portion of the primer in the middle of the recessed area of the primer so that section of the primer doesnt touch the micrometer anyway. My average crush for about 9 cases was right at .0055 Thanks Lee
