primer cratering

I have a 6br Rem 700 using #450 primers which are cratering using only 29.8gr varg.. I read that Greg Tannel does good work & will use him, but my question is; Is it true the bushed spec is supposed to be .062? Mine is measuring at .072. Is this common to Rem 700's? Can this affect accuracy? Thanks in advance.

Both numbers are correct. Get it done. My friend just did and is very pleased with the results. FYI in the last few years custom action makers have made the smaller pin diameter available. it is standard on my Viper for instance. Greg is just converting old pins to a diameter that he,and I) believes works better. In addition, the bushing is long enough, and the tip ground back far enough that it stays in its hole full stroke, which a stock Remington and many others do not. This creates a feature that many of the best custom actions have because their designers believe that it contributes to better accuracy.

Got my Rem-700 bolt back from Greg T. Problem fixed. No more primer cratering. I should have sent it in sooner. Thanks for the guidance Boyd.
