Very well said Joe...As you said I tried what would be the norm for most hornet shooters until I ran out of the small pistol primers. Yes I was shocked with the great results of my primer switch. I will add that I have been using 13.5 grains of lil-gun and the small pistol primers were somewhat on the flat side with this load. When I switched to the rem 7.5's the primers looked way less flattened. I have also read that these match primers will be more consistent with a less than center hit from the firing pin. Something else interesting with this rifle was that the only bullet that would shoot the small groups I'm getting is the 35 gr. v-max. I tried 34gr. varmint nightmare and 40 grain v-max with a few other older hornet bullets from sierra with less than ideal results. Seems there could be a magic formula for any rifle and I seem to have stumbled into the formula for this one...LOL :
I also enjoy this forum where there are many with more knowledge that can be of great benefit especially with a cartridge such as the hornet.
