Preview of Curtis Vector Quick Change barrel system

A little preview of how the quick change barrel system works on the upcoming Curtis Vector action. More details to come on their FB page.

From Curtis Custom...

We are proud to introduce you to a feature that will be on the upcoming VECTOR action.

QUICK CHANGE BARREL

Jed Knowlton with Sage Precision has been testing our switch barrel for some time now. He was kind enough to put a video together that shows our system. He chambered up a rifle specifically for this test. I personally Shot a prototype the last 3 matches I Shot in last year. 1000 rounds down the pipe and not one problem. ...
Our quick change barrel system will be on the VECTOR action. If you choose not to use it... you may simply torque your barrel as usual...since the barrel shoulders up as normal!
There are 2 torque screws on each side of the recoil lug that hold the barrel in place once it is threaded on the receiver. The screws will not and can not back out as they are lock screws.
Through our long testing process we have learned to truly enjoy the system and found it has many benefits! Stay tuned for more details as we move closer to the VECTOR release.

Correct. Screw it on until the shoulder of the tenon makes contact and follow the torque specs on the two set screws. However, you can torque the barrel as normal if you wish.

Curtis actions are the slickest! I have only handled the Axiom, and it is a fine action by any standard. This is just one more option, for those who want it.

Looks like another winner from Curtis Customs. Fine people at the helm of the company as well. I read an interaction with someone that wasn't happy with their action, which was a first run deal and it was offered to be bought back from the guy. Turns out he was doing something wrong and ended up loving it. Good time to be a buyer in the precision rifle world.

Is there any way you can see this action and his site other than joining Facebook? I don't like Facebook and I don't care to join.

This idea looks awesome but I am suspicious of this. To my knowledge there is no mechanical fastener that is impervious to backing out. If they are really "lock" screws and can not back out, then how does the person remove them? I am not trying to be critical or rude with my questions, just curious.
