pressure signs

What exactly should one be looking for with "pressure signs"?
I am going to work up some loads suggested on the 6BR link but which do not appear in any of my loading manuals. How will I know when I am reaching the max load?

Also, if a primmer gets pierced how drastic are the results?
Should I stay away from fed 205M and use CCI or am I ok with Fed. primmers?
thanks

Look for primer cratering which is when the metal starts to extrude back into the firing pin hole. Also look for flattened primers. If your bolt is harder to open than usual it could be a good sign of pressure.

Just a couple there are also some others that I can't quite figure how to describe.

You should do a search on the forums.

using a micrometer that will measure down to tens of thousands of an inch, measure the case head looking for no more than .0003"-.0004" expansion. this is the most reliable method of measuring for pressure. gpoldblue@yahoo.com
