Pressure signs with a mechanical ejector?

I'm following this good thread with interest, and have a stupid question about this mechanical ejector.
This appears to be a strike mark induced when the bolt is drawn back to cycle a round, if this is correct how can the mark be made when fired ? The bolt lugs are engaged how could the bolt move back?
Probably a simple answer.
Thx

For a big game hunting load, if it is shooting how and where I want the first shot, I would go with it and hunt with new brass only. The light mark would not bother me, especially if I know I am not close to being over pressure. If you are a tad on the high side, don’t trust the brass on a reload to hunt with.

...I didn't notice before but that does look like a negative stamped into the brass and not a positive raised on the brass. Can OP confirm whether that is an indentation into the brass or a raised positive on the brass.

That may just appear from cycling the action too hard. Could easily confirm this by cycling the action too hard.

If its pressure it should be a raised positive on the brass right?

From the pic, it looks to be a negative imprint, but I can’t really tell because it is so light. That said, I can’t get it to repeat on virgin brass and running the bolt hard, and I never ran the bolt hard at all during my ladder.
