Pressure Sign on Tight Bore

Within this load, they shoot pretty well with other custom rifles or factory rifle.

5 shouts group within .5 MOA @ 200 yards.

But this is the first time that I use .299/.308 Bartlein 5R 1:11-25 tw"

This barrel was chamber with .342"nk, .168 fb with 1-30 Reamer from PTG.



Just wonder the smaller bore of .001 will affect too many in pressure?


My load was

Federal New Case with Factory primed
43 gr. of IMR 4064
175 SMK
COAL 2.800"






So, should I reduce load for this barrel?

New (unfired) cases may have excessive HS & FP extrusion may dissipate on next firing. What was cartridge HS before & after firing? Firing pin may need to be bushed. Could send bolt to Gre-tan for fast, high quality bushing job. Several members here have and are happy w/ results.

I had the exact same problem and greg at gre-tan did a wonderful job and had it back in 7 days.
