The erector spring has nothing to do with the boost. That booster is glued into the tube. Leupold for quite some time was taking care of the Premier boosted scopes as warranty. Someone there finally wised up and realized it was costing them a considerable amount of money to repair/change parts/scopes due to modifications performed by some one else (premier). Premier doesn't have trouble getting all the parts they need to build their scopes along with repair parts. It isn't that Premier can't repair the scopes, they aren't in the repair business. They sell their line of scopes and would be happy to sell one to you. We can't blame Leupold for refusing to repair their scopes that have been modified by another company.
The Premeir booster isn't causing the problem, it is an internal problem, Leupold and Premier were in agreement at the time these were modified, it's not like it was done in some back alley scope shop!
Leupold never repaired a Premier boosted scope before it went to Premeir FIRST, I still have the Premeir catalog from my last purchase from them in 2005, it clearly states the Warranty policy:
The original, lifetime Leupold scope warranty is not voided when Premier
Reticles installs reticles or target turrets. Should you have a problem with
the scope it should be returned to:
Leupold Repair department
14400 N.W. Greenbrier Pkwy
Beaverton, OR 97006
(503) 526-1400
All reticles installed by Premier Reticles in any Leupold scope carry our
lifetime warranty.
Any Leupold scope that we have power boosted or installed the Gen 2
Mil-dot has the lifetime Premier Reticle warranty. Because of the nature of
these conversions, if you should have a problem with the scope, it should
first be returned to Premier Reticles...not Leupold.
We will repair or replace, at our option, any scope returned to us for warranty
inspection. It will be returned to you by the most economical method.
Additional air shipping is at the customers expense.
Any scope or accessory may be returned (if unused/unmarked) with original
packaging for a refund/credit less shipping and tax. All returns are subject
to a 10% restocking fee and must be made with 30 days of invoice
date. All order discrepancies must be reported within 14 days of invoice
date. Non-standard or custom reticles are not refundable.
“Unused/unmarked†condition is subject to our inspection and approval. If
product is new and unused, it may be returned in exchange for purchase
price (less shipping) against another product.
So maybe Premier should honor their end of the deal because when the scope was purchased new things were rosie between them, I still have my reciepts, order paperwork, build sheets, boxes, etc.....
