Prefit savage barrel issue

Everyone, I put a prefit shilen for nss on my savage benchrest 6br. It is a 8twist, but didn’t have enough freebore to seat 105s. A friend of mine who has done all of this many times helped hand ream it to accept the 105/108s. I tested 108 bergers and it shoots amazing, in the .2s and runs and cycles perfect. BUT, after inspecting my once fired brass which has only been shot in this barrel I noticed a mark on basically every piece of brass. It’s indicated in the middle of the shoulder and if you run your nail over it can just barley feel it.

So my question is. Can/how to fix this, it is even an issue, and what could have caused it.

Why mess with success? If you like the way it shoots, shoot it. Those tiny marks on the shoulder will do no harm.

The reamer probably has a nick on the flutes in the shoulder area. Trying to cut it out without sharpening the reamer first will probably result in the same condition.
As suggested above, it's mostly a cosmetic issue. If you like the way it's shooting, I'd let well enough alone.

It is not a problem. Ignore it. It is very possible to create even more issues by trying to dress it up not to mention extending your head space even more than it already is. Worry more about not bumping your shoulders too much when sizing.

I'm thinking it was Shilen's reamer that made that "gosh awful unsightly" mark and is probably causing that rifle to just shoot on the .2's:rolleyes:. This falls in into the category of it ain't broke, no need to fix it.
Just my two cents.

Thanks everyone. I’ve probably put close to 200 rounds through it and one day at a match I noticed it and being basically new into the sport i wanted to address it. It doesn’t bother me at all and doesn’t seem the alter the performance of the rifle at all. But rather safe than sorry, being a new barrel they will have thousands of rounds left in it I wanted to get more opinions before I let it be.
