Precision Rifle & Tool Lowboy stock vs Mcmillan F-Class stock

Thanks - yeah kelblys have been pretty good to deal with. They made things very easy and once the stock arrived they turned the inletting and bedding around in less than a fortnight. They are using a FF now for shipping (not sure who). I'm just waiting on confirmation that the rifle has shipped.

Once I have it and am happy with the rifle I will place an order for another - 1 for club days/backup and 1 for Regionals and Nats. Even some of the sling guys are moving to two barrels now...trying to save those hummers :)

ahhhh sounds good! My mate just has kelblys chamber up a new barrel in whatever cal and they send it over and he screws it straight in!! They just have his serial number on file and hasnt had an issue to date.

Yeah two barrels is good . . .two rifles is better. Im just going through the process of building two IDENTICAL rifles with 6 barrels in 2 cals. Same stocks, same scopes, same headspace. Ive found the problem I have is you get one good barrel going then you have to keep swapping it back and forth while your getting the next one run in and tuned.

two guns leaves one spare for load development or club shoots. Then when you go to prize meets you can take two rifles set up in the same cal in case of malfunction/ barrel cleaning or one in a short range and one in a big / long range cal

I had Ray make a Lo-Boy this past spring. I had the butt left as long as he could, and a 1" pad installed for more length. This way I didn't need any of the adjustable hardware. It only cost $460. Then pillar, and glass bedding. A little sanding, and 5 coats of oil rub. It tracks very well, but does have a little vertical flex. You can squeeze the barrel and forearm together with 2 fingers. Another stock to look into was designed by Jim See, and now sold by Ryan Pierce.
