My prematch ritual is to bitch about how tired I am, how hot it is, how bad the sun will be in my eyes, how bad the mirage is, how bad the wind is blowing, and how I switched lots of powder. It pretty much covers every scenario for when I don't win the match.
I'm the opposite with the first bit.
If it is very hot I think to myself, hmmm, nice and warm, I'm prepared for this but the other gooses probably wont be.
If it is very cold and wet I think, hmmm, nice and cool, good, I'm and prepared for it, the other turkeys probably aren't.
If it is windy, I think, hmmm, good, I go better in the wind.
If it is calm I think to myself, hmmm, good, my gun and ammo is well prepared, should go well (I hope, or at least can not drop too many points).
When those thoughts inevitably fall apart and things don't go well, I am more prepared prepared with suitable excuses.
My most recent one being I had ignition problems.
OK, the primers went off 100% reliably on time, every time, but the stupid gun wasn't pointing where it should have been on target when they did so.
