Präzipress vs. Area 419 Turret Press

Prazi vs. 419

Prazi
The Prazi press requires changing dies.
Is generally more accurate and stable.
Easier to use.
Not as hunky gangly large, even the big Prazi is more compact.
Price vs quality and build is outstanding.
Takes the larger dia dies, 419, etc.

419
Rotary die holder, very convenient, easy to set up.
Expensive, dies and press as well as extra rotary plates.
Storage of die plates may be an issue.
Everything is big.

Setting up x2 Prazi presses, may sell the 419 press only and go with the Prazis, a couple months out will know better.
Bigger cases, the Prazi is the way to go. Magnums and longer cases. Tons of leverage and ease of use. Will know better a few months out.
Ordering a third Prazi now.

Update.
It flashed on me while loading some 308 match rounds a few minutes ago.
I cant beleive i over looked this critical press.
The all time greatest, even today is the Forster CoAx.
The Turban is an elitist press, ill agree and offer up, a work of machining art.
The CoAx will do everything as well a few convenience items better.
I use mine for seating only with Newlon custom seating dies.
It just does not get any better ROI or BFB.

In that chart, green is good and yellow not so good? Or something else? And what's a Prazzi? Never heard of that before. And thanks for being helpful. I at least appreciate it.

I was trying to be helpful and nice but I guess I failed :)
I appreciate the effort, and I don't mean to be snarky. I've seen that chart before and I've seen the test before. The problem with it is that it doesn't really account for a lot of testing variance and the sample size is so incredibly small there is nothing statistically significant that can be drawn from it. Honestly, the only thing we can conclude from it is what that particular sample's "slop" is, which in and of itself doesn't tell us anything about the quality of the ammunition it produces, how quickly it produces it, etc. Even looking at the sizing force on the graph doesn't tell us much because there are so many unaccounted for variables. Then that begs the question, what relationship sizing force plays with the quality of brass, the speed which the reloader can use it, or the amount of effort put into sizing. For example, according to the chart, the Forster has the least peak sizing force. This isn't surprising because of the length of the throw and thus the mechanical advantage the press has. But what effect does that longer throw have on the user?

But what do I know, I size the brass for my competition ammo on a Dillon while I have a perfectly good Rock Chucker and Area 419 Zero bolted to the bench. I shot my personal best 200-16X with the last batch I loaded. I'll wager, the press one chooses is not what holds back our scores or our groups.

I’m not convinced sizing makes much difference on the target, I had a maverick round the other day at .008 shorter than the rest of the rounds. It went into the same hole as the previous round.
Go figure

I sorta hesitate to say this....but only sorta. A lot of folks making money off this sport. That's ok. But larger, fancier, more complicated does not mean better. Tons of claims that are theory and marketing . jimmymac hit the nail square on the head. The guy that wins 99 % of the time is the guy that has a good rifle, well crafted ammo, well tuned load , and finally reads conditions the BEST, wins the match. Buying the latest greatest piece of equipment is not likely to change your place at the end of the match.

For me, its the joy of using precision equipment in a class of its own.
A BAT action vs all else, that sort of thing.
There are many ways to make precision ammunition.
It's how you want to get there that can be interesting and creative vs same old boring clunk -O- matic stuff.
A fine trigger that you enjoy every time you fire the precision rifle shooting instrument you have built.
A fine scope, optics matters a lot to me, will others shoot as well sure, not with the same clarity and finesse.
Carry on,,,,,
