Prazi press

I don't think that's a fair comparison honestly. I mean could a guy catch the same about if fish with a cappy boat that can get somewhere yes if course the boat does noting but transport someone right ?how big of a factor is that in fishing when it comes down to it.
Reloading however.... Seems to me , in my lowly opinion, that good equipment means a lot more. Like I'm sorry but I doubt someone like me on my poverty pony saw horse bench and lee gear could turn out ammo as nice as someone with a press or dies or calipers that are machined better , measure better , ect if we had the same level of knowledge.

Somethings gear dosent make that much of a difference. I could put fish alot of guys with $300 combos with my Walmart $20 spinning combo no problem. But fishing isn't just reigned over by equipment.... Shooting however.... Wellllll....... I'm pretty sure my best gun with my best reloads on my best day, would plain just get blown out the water buy some of y'all just because it's plain better equipment.

Anyway just some thoughts from a guy who can barely afford Sierra matchkings :D

I would say shooting skill trumps equipment if you had to chose one over the other. I went to a 600m shoot some years back and a younger guy who drove up in a 15 yr old truck smoked all the others with a stock savage on a bipod using hornady ammo. I loved it! His rifle was worth about the same as some of the other competitor's front rests. BUT shooting skill and good equip wins the trophies consistently. No debate.
If I used a bench press to reload I would probably try a smaller Pravi so not against them. Just dont agree that a 1k press is necessary to make precise ammo. But it makes it more enjoyable I bet!

Fortunately I discovered in the beginning of my career that I got an immense amount of joy and relaxation from working in my reloading space. Reloading is an integral part of my work and play. I have always looked forward to even the most basic reloading tasks.

Enjoy the process!

:)
I love this! I go down in my reloading room and just sit sometimes trying to think of something to do, wait long enough and I'll find something! I'm picking up my "no turn" neck 6BR next week, had the brass skimmed for 2 months!

A necessity no. Do you need trophies to buy one…. of course not. Will you shoot more accurately… nah.
But a Timex tells time just as a Rolex. (Actually a bit better) But given the choice?
I’m actually rooting for a press I don’t care for but in reality rooting for ‘pride of ownership’
And in my case ….Gen. 11:33

Where in live in world class steelhead country, there is an outfit that makes 3x reg cost drift boats called Pavattis. But they dont catch anymore fish because the fisherman catches them, not the boat. But, I will say that if you can catch the big ones in a Pavatti as well as the others, then fish in one. But dont show pics of your boat without the trophy fish in the pics!

I will say rowing a well balanced drift boat will get you on more fish. Well balanced drifters tend to be more money. Not because it’s a big name or blingy but because it will give you more control. Staying in the right slot is the big thing as a salmon/steelhead guy. Same with reloading.

It's the die that makes the difference. Most of us use a single stage press for sizing and arbor press for seating the bullet. I didn't see any difference in consistency comparing cases sized with coax and the ones sized with praezioress using the same die. Although my sample was only 10 case and Bryan could easily say it's statistically insignificant.

Well if you think about the fact that every press uses a sloppy case holder of some form then all the press really does is guide the case upwards into the die under pressure. And then the die does the rest. So theoretically a work of art prazi or an old 1975 rcbs jr with peeling paint will perform the same function. Or in my case, a hand press like in pic above.

.................................THIS IS NOT MY PRESS............................

But I use a pair of presses identical to this one. It is a Hollywood Senior. I was fortunate some years back to get mine from a retiring shooter that had his 2 presses tuned to each other so if I use the same shell holder and torque my die the same they are approx. 1K within each other for shoulder bump. They are the smoothest operating presses I have ever tried........There is some very cool old shit out there.....;)

Rick

yep, just some look prettier than others. I think the Prazis are gorgeous pieces of precision machining, but I will never have the money to purchase one. My hobby account stays broke just replacing components and barrels at todays prices

I want one!!!

I think the only reloaders who should own one are those are those who have more national trophies on the shelf than they have presses. ie: not necessary
See this press. It's loaded more winning rounds than any press in existence and won more HOF & Precision Rifleman points and more matches than any other press also. A cheap RCBS RS press that was Tony Boyers. I guess if he had a real press just think of what he could of done. LMFAO!!!!!

I'm going to take it over to Rollie Lindblad's shop in Northbridge Mass for some tin work and I'm going to have him fabricate a one off rear spoiler. Going to order a set of MVM carbon Fiber wheelie bars and I'm going to have him fabricate a chute bracket, It already has the levers for the chute. Rollie is 80 years old and back in the 60's & 70's he use to build Funny car chassis' for a lot of the east coast guy's. I can't believe he is still in business after all these years but I called him up and he is still doing a lot of work on street rods and all sorts of stuff.

Haha! I used to show up to some PRS-style matches (before there was a PRS organization) in my 15-year-old Dodge Neon that people used to laugh at, say they wouldn't be caught dead in it, etc. as they point to their new pickups. And walk over to the truck and whip out my Accuracy International with an S&B and suppressor. I think I took first or second at six or seven consecutive matches. They stopped laughing at my little gas-saver.
