Prayers for Tennessee

Youngest child lives east of Nashville, they are still without power, sent me some pics over the last two days of major destruction just 1/2 mile from their house.

Most of the deaths were in Putnam County near Cookville . Buddy of mine just got released from the scene there today.

Prayers sent. I sincerely hope they find the 21 missing alive. This storm was horrible. I lived through a mild one in Rochester ny area in the late 70's. It was really scary and my ex was totally freaked out.

I live about an hour north of Nashville. I haven't been down to see the destruction but I have several friends and fellow shooters that live in the affected areas. Thankfully, I don't know anyone who had damage(that I know of). I've heard and seen reports of total devastation in the path. It started near downtown Nashville and followed closely I40 east for 50 miles, to Cookville, Tn. This was an EF4 tornado that stayed on the ground for that far. Obviously, the damage is extensive. With the magnitude and breadth of the damage, it's hard not to know someone that was at least indirectly affected by it.

If not for the current political environment, this would probably be getting extensive media coverage. Prayers for the thousands of people this storm has affected and their families.

My home town, Mt Juliet, was hit hard. A neighborhood and two schools were leveled. Three people, at my last check were killed.

People that I know, classmates of mine, are homeless. One classmate’s parents were trapped in the wreckage of their house for almost 24 hours. He was interviewed on TV.

Further East, my mom’s farm was hit. No one was injured. Lost a barn and both detached garages. Major roof damage to the house. Lost about 3/4 of a mile of three-rail fence.

Mom had come home from the hospital that day. She had pneumonia and fluid around her heart and lungs. So, she was on supplemental oxygen. Thank goodness my brother and sister are very competent human beings. They had a generator there quick and my brother brought a small army of kids and grandkids to start cleanup and get fresh water going again.

I encourage everyone to think about prayer as moving closer to God and what God commands us to do. Help one another.

Greg, sorry to hear about the damage they have. Glad they're ok.

Thank you, Mike. It’s a rough patch. But people there will pull together and put their sweat and money into helping their neighbors.

I’ll miss the pole barn. It was my shooting shed when I was there. But I hated that fence. Nothing but a black hole for money and labor.

Putnam County and Cookeville suffered the greatest loss of life.

If you have an opportunity, get online and see how you can help. Some places need volunteers. Some need funds to help folks with food and shelter.

Thoughts and prayers to all those affected by these terrible events I think Southern Precision Rifles aka Bugholes is in Cookeville well wishes out to them as well
