Last chemo day for this round
Journal entry by Dianna Schaller — 8 hours ago
Yesterday was a nice day for Jedi. His nausea was better and he had more energy. He was able to walk outside three times, put together some LEGO sets, get a haircut and a modified shower. Thank the Lord for all these things!
It never gets old listening to the boys talk to each other and explaining how things work. It was so cute listening to Isaiah and Jedi explain chemotherapy to Micah and how it works in Jedi’s body to fight the cancer. One such comment that really made me giggle was, “basically, it poops on my immune system!”
Jedi woke up really wanting hash browns for breakfast. His cravings are all over the place. I was thankful I had potatoes, so I could satisfy that request and it worked out well. I was busy in the kitchen and he started to pray silently to himself before he ate. After he was finished I asked him what he prayed for. He said he prayed that his chemo goes well today, and that he is certain it’s going to go great. He also prayed for daddy to have a productive day working today. Then he said I know it’s going to be a great day because I know God is always with me and His angels are always around me! This boy is always encouraging me and everyone around him. He always prays for God to bless everyone who is praying for him! Such a selfless example that we should all follow.
Last night Patrick and Jedi were looking at shirts that are designed for kids with central lines. It’s an amazing organization, and we are thankful for their generosity (as well as a special friend who gifted us some). Jedi picked two shirts with “Be Strong” on the front. This is awesome because it’s based on one promise from our Lord that has brought us so much comfort the last few weeks:
BE STRONG! JOSHUA 1:9
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
He indeed is with us today, and He is with all of you as well. Please pray with us that Jedi’s treatments go well today, and thank for supporting our little trooper!
