Powered Case turners

I am wondering what peopkle are using for powered case turners. I have some use gracey but im looking for more or less just something that can spin the case so i can use my own debur tools and my K&M neck shaver.. thanks

Look up pbike on hear. I bought 1 from him and love it. It works great and it did not break the piggy bank.

I use a Sinclair power case holder in a el-cheapo Black and Decker cordless re-chargable screwdriver from Wally World. Runs about 185 rpm which is perfect. Have used it to turn necks and all other chores for years. Cost was less than twenty bucks.

+1 on what dtucker said.

Talk to Paul Becigneul (pbike). see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHiyWZ0iplY

He had a website: http://www.paulbecigneul.com that worked in May, but it doesn't seem to work right now.

his e-mail is: pbike4466 AT directv DOT net

I use a $30 RYOBI HP41L hand held powered screwdriver that turns at 180 rpms, which I was told by Ken Markle [the original owner of K&M], was the proper speed for turning brass.

[I actually have 4 of the HP41Ls so I can work for hours, if I want, without having to worry about recharging. The Lithium 4V batteries do hold a very long charge]

Here's what it looks like: http://www.homedepot.com/buy/tools-hardware-power-tools-drills-cordless/ryobi-1-4-in-4-volt-cordless-lithium-ion-screwdriver-125770.html

I secure the case in a $20 K&M power adapter with shell holder [which pops easily into the end of the screwdriver]: http://www.kmshooting.com/catalog/neck-turner-tools/power-adapter-with-shell-holder.html . And then use my K&M Turners to turn the necks.

Thats exactly the same drill I use but with the Sinclair head...turns some very consistant brass. I'll also add that the drill is the perfect size to hold and lightweight.

I use the Ryobi and the Sinclair case holder. The case holder for .308 sized cases turns incrediblly true. I can't say that for the .223 holder though. It wobbes like a drunk. I think I got a bad one....there for a while Sinclair didn't have them in stock because they were having quality control problems. I only use the .223 holder for cleaning so it isn't a big deal. Wouldn't hesitiate to use the .308 sized one to power turn brass.

i guess i am the exception, as i use the RCBS power trimmer, it is very vast, very uniform in results and easy to use, setup and with the proper setting will trim, debur at the same time.

no problem with different calibers, cases, etc. they all work and as a volume shooter, have trimed 500 cases in an afternoon.

Same here and I have been completely satisfied with it. Trims, chamfers and de-burrs all at once. Easy to change calibers - I just make a reference case for each caliber and leave it next to the trimmer. When I switch calibers, I just put the reference case in and set the length by that before I plug it in. Works great.

I own three Craftsman powered screwdrivers, 3.6 volts, 180 rpm. Use them to turn necks with the Sinclair case holder, and also for annealing. When on sale at Sears and/or K-Mart, they go for $19.95. I have one on the charger all the time, and another charged for a spare. I hate to be in the middle of a job and need to stop for recharging. My only complaint is that the clutch wears out after 100 or so tightening sequences.

Tried the Black and Decker, did not like the feel of it.

I initially tried the Sinclair shell holder or head, but found the center of it [the portion that applies force to the case] to be rounded or convex, which provided little friction between it and the bottom of the case, causing a lot a case spinning within the holder, even if a lot of force was applied.

I switched over to the K&M holder which greatly increases friction because the center portion is flat.
