anyone know what type of powder hornaday uses in their super performance cases like 75 grain super performance 243 ?

More than likely it isn't a canister powder available to the public but something they buy in bulk and adjust the load to meet the ballistic specs advertised for that round with each new batch.

Seems to me that they like to show/advertise upper end velocity that we often don't achieve with our accuracy reloads. And I suppose that they might do whatever voodoo or ju-ju they need to keep pressure at lower levels. It's often rumored that they have proprietary blends of powder to achieve that goal.

I haven't really been impressed with the accuracy of the hotter factory loads. jd

It’s not rumored, they’ve said it on their podcast that their Superformance ammo use proprietary powders that aren't the same as Superformance powder on the shelf.
