Anyone know what stainless is used on savage barrel nut?

Any one know what type of stainless savage uses on their barrel nuts?
303,304,316,416 ect. Some super special steel that gives them their super accuracy powers?

No idea. But you might call some place like Northland Shooter Supply that sells *aftermarket* barrel nuts... more likely to get an answer out of them.

303 and 416 machine easiest and the alloy is unimportant. I really wouldn't care.
