Powder Valley primers on sale

I suggested that we shouldn't buy the stuff when it was going up, but no one listened! An 8 pound jug of powder shouldn't be over $150 I still have some with price tags that say $108!

I've been at this for a little over 30 years now. I can remember when most 8 lb kegs were under $150, but back then I didn't have enough money to buy 8 lb at a time. I DID manage to stock up on N540 back in the late 90s when I was competing. When powder started becoming available again after Covid, I noticed that the prices hadn't really increased so I stocked up on TAC, N133, N530 (before it was discontinued), H110, and GreenDot. I'll be good on powder right up until I add another cartridge to the line up.... lol

Nailed it 100 %, if people would STOP Buying for 2 to 3 weeks, there probably would be Drastic Price Drops, sadly many will pay the High Prices ,Every time Sales Drop there are Free Hazmat, or Free Shipping with a Few $$ off powder, primers ect. Delay, Delay,Delay Buying watch prices Drop lol

2 or 3 weeks isn't going to make a difference. Very few large scale businesses make business decisions based on weekly sales volumes, or monthly for that matter. Most are looking at quarterly and annual sales. In order to see the MSRP on primers come down, we need to see ammo sales decline year over year. Seems like we're making some progress, but we certainly aren't there yet and I'm not sure we ever will be. After living through 2 large scale ammo shortages, it's pretty obvious how stupid we'll get just to make sure we can feed our pew pews. To be honest, I'm surprised that they are having the sales on primers considering several big name outlets are still selling them at $80-$100 and are showing several brands/sizes out of stock at that price. I'm not sure who's buying them. Everyone I know right now is only buying what they actually need. When the $40 and $50 sales come along, they do jump on the opportunity to stock up a little because they know they will burn through them before the prices get any lower. However, it's not like it was pre-covid when we were ordering 20k-40k primers at a time just so we didn't have to deal with the hassle of running out. Back then, company A might be out of a single size of a single brand (Fed LRP for example), but they would have SOMETHING (Win, Rem, CCI) to fill the spot. Magnum and BR could be a little more iffy, but you could always find them from more than one place.
