Powder Temperature Sensitivities

There’s another temperature to consider besides ambient. If a person is engaged in a shooting discipline which involves high volume or rapid fire, the barrel chamber will get scorching hot. Inserting a fresh round in that hot chamber and allowing it time to heat soak sends powder temps to the moon.

Absolutely. Which is another reason to use extremely temperature insensitive powders.

But I could also understand why some shooting disciplines would make it a very low priority to have an extreme type powder or not see the effects.
