Powder recommendation for short barreled 6.5 CM?

Looking for powder recommendations for an 18" suppressed 6.5 cm. Probably be loading 130 gr bullets. I know a faster burning powder may help me pick back up a little speed im loosing with the short barrel. I've always loaded H4350 with 140 gr bullets for a longer barrel, but may drop down to a little lighter bullet to pick up a little velocity with the shorter tube.

I'm under the impression the best powder is the best powder, regardless of barrel length.

Not a 6.5 CM, but same scenario. I bought a 6.5 PRC with a 20" tube a month ago with the idea of dropping down from my normal 140-150 class bullets to the 130 class to gain the speed back. It helped that I had 10 lbs of H-4831-SC & a butt load of 130 VLD's on the shelf to feed it.

Accuracy was so so, but curiosity got the best of me, so I bought some H-1000 to try.

That turned this gun into a hammer.

So the short answer, try your 4350....

I just purchased a Glenfield Model A 6.5 Creedmoor yesterday, couldn’t beat the price new in the box $280.00 out the door, loaded 10 rounds 120 grain BT 43.5 Stabill 7 shots around inch and half group I’m well pleased.

I built a 6.5 PRC a few years back with 20 inch barrel and 7 inch suppressor. I'm running 109 gr hammer (monolithic) bullets at 3380 ftps with H4350 and its a lazer. I even thought bout trying Varget just to play around with it. I tried heavier bullets in the 140 gr class with H1000 and it hammered with that as well, I used a 10 inch drop tube to load and pour slowly.

I was thinking of trying Varget.
Varget would probably do well with the lighter bullets. Its amazing how versatile Varget is among many different calibers and bullet weights. Its the cats meow in .308 with bullet weights from 155 gr up to 210 VLDs i used to shoot in long range FTR.

RL26 in Creedmoor's is magical especially with regard to velocity but finding any without having to sell a kidney, lung, one of your children or taking out a second mortgage on your house is equally magical.

If you're looking to pick up some velocity give RL17 a go. It can be a bit quirky until you get used to working with it and it's not as temp stabile as RL16 or H4350 but I'd bet you could get into the low 2800's or close to it with RL17 in your setup w/130's
