Powder preference for 6BR (when using smaller bullets) ?

Certainly was not directed at you. I love lt32 and found it to be very temperature insensitive going from 70 degrees to 105 in one day shot the same.
No offense taken, probably a lot of powder choices occur because of availability. Where I live here in Arkansas it's 60 miles to off the shelf powder at $35-$40 a can with limited variety so I order from powder valley or someplace similar. Because of freight and hazmat I try to buy in quantity, usually in large container cases. So I depend on isword of mouth and what I learn at matches from other shooters concerning different powders. If I have a powder that is working well for me I have no need to experiment with something else until I get a new caliber and then I start with what I have on hand to see what works and if I find something that does I use what I have. Wish I could could try more different powders but wouldn't give up where I live for the privilege....

i have used LT-32 in my 6PPC and my 14 twist Bartlein 6BR. here in SE Florida, i could never get consistent results with LT-32. high humidity may be the cause, but it still was inconsistent in the winter months when humidity is lower. on the other hand, a Shilen .223 14 twist i also shoot loves LT-32 with 52 Bergers. ones and twos are the norm with it. winter or summer, doesn't seem to matter. go figure

in the 6PPC i have had much better results with N133. have not tried it yet when things cool off in the winter. i assume i will need load adjustments then.

in the slow twist 6BR, i have had better, more consistent results results with Benchmark. i need to try the N133 in this rifle as well at some point. i shoot either Berger Columns or Bart's Ultras 68 gr bullets in both 14 twist 6BR or the PPC.

as i indicated above, in a 12 twist Brux 6BR i also shoot, N135 with either the 80 Bergers or the 68 gr class of bullets has been outstanding. have gotten numerous mid ones groupings especially with the 80s. fantastic off the shelf bullet.

8208 XBR mentioned here, has been also very inconsistent for me in any of these rifles i have mentioned.

it's all voodoo it seems

Just picked up 8 lbs of N135. Any load data that anyone can share when using N135 and the 80s in a 6BR (8 twist) ? Jamming or jumping the bullet ? etc

Thanks

I just went pdog hunting in the panhandle. Our ammo went from 70 degrees to 110 degrees in one day. We saw absolutely no change in LT32, Benchmark, H322, or TAC (very interesting its a ball powder and supposed to be extremely insensitive.)

N160 went from nice round primers to blowing the case apart in my 243.

No more Vit powders for Brad. Tubb warned me!!! He told me he doesn't mess with anything anymore that isn't in the Extreme series. He had a similar experience at the Nationals when he was sponsored by Vituvouri, sent their powder back, and never shot it again.

Like several others here, I have had excellents result from Benchmark and 75 - 80 grain bullets in both 8 and 12 twist barrels.

Wow! Sixty miles to off-the-shelf powder is a ways. Shame there isn't a buddy to snag enough for a sample batch of ammo. It got to the point I had so much powder of various types in my garage that didn't work in anything - I started just spreading it around the yard. I gladly pay $35.00 for a pound of untried powder just so I don't get stuck with more of what was supposed to be the "stuff" - but I only have to drive a few miles. Good Luck on that jug! For my light varmint bullets in 6BR - I have loads that work best in my 8TW using H-322 and IMR 8208XBR
