In my opinion most any in that price range should work well and repeatable for ball powders. Focus on the powder measure that has the nicest adjustment, preferably a micrometer.
The ability to come back to a setting and practicing a consistent stroke are second to none with powder throwers.
Post a WTB ad for a harrels measure, you should be able to get one close to the top of your price range and at that price are hard to beat.
I think a used harrells might be in my price range. I guess the main question is if the Redding BR, RCBS, or any others are less likely to jam up with ball powder. In my opinion most any in that price range should work well and repeatable for ball powders. My understanding is most all powder measures perform well with ball powders out of the box outside of the lee perfect which has a tendency to spill ball powders. Although I don't have any personal experience with the cheapest lee perfect.I think a used harrells might be in my price range. I used Lee dippers then finally bought my Harrel’s br powder measure. I would not want to be without one now.I've tried two or three different powder measures finally bought a Harrells measure and never look back
My first Hornady auto charge may have died due to ball powder. They replaced it under warranty with the new version, which handles ball powder slightly better, but it still struggles with the finer stuff. My next attempt was Lee scoops and then trickling, but my Lyman trickler gets jammed up with the finer stuff too.I run ball powders through my Hornady electronic and a couple RCBS hand style powder measures and never had any trouble with them not working right or jamming.
I have friends that use other brands of measures and they never seem to have issues with ball powders not flowing as they should.
Maybe you would like one of the small digital electronic measures instead of the other types for your ball powder use. One load at a time, measured out in the tray by hand with a spoon or trickler.
