Powder Measure Cleaning

Anyone know how to get the powder measure reservoir clean after you have left powder in it for a period of time?

The ammonia has stained it im sure.

I think i have figured that out. Does anyone know of a cleaner to take the stain out?

If it isn't too bad, baking soda might work. If it is pitted, there isn't much you can do.

I completely disassembled my Harrell's measure and cleaned/polished the drum and all brass internals with Nev'r Dull, and it worked better than new!

Best to just replace it.

Powders ,especially those containing nitroglycerin will gobble up most
common plastics used in clear reservoirs.

Don't forget that most smokeless powders contain Plasticizers in their make up
as well.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I used Meguiars Plastx clear plastic cleaner and polish made for Headlight covers on your car. Its not bad, but of course its not 100% but way improved. Thanks Chuck G

"Clouding" of the plastic powder reservoirs is so common and cleaning extremely hard I don't bother. As long as I can see a powder level and the stuff doesn't stick to the sides, I just keep using it. Maybe some day I'll just buy a new one for each dispenser (I have 5 for my Dillon QC's alone along with a couple Lee's, RCBS) rather than spend money on all the different cleaners/polishes.

FWIW, in over 40 years I haven't bought one yet, they just keep on working.
