Powder in glass??

I pre weigh powder into very small glass jars. They measure about 3/4"Wide x 2"Tall. My question is whether or not light will affect the powder? It's not in direct sunlight but rather ceiling lights. I only keep it in these for about a week. After case prep weighing powder the most tedious part of reloading for me. So before I load I weigh about 40 at a time until I have enough.

Any thoughts or just thinking about stuff too much ???

Thanks again,
Rmist

Won't change a thing...

"Any thoughts or just thinking about stuff too much ???"... yup,

How accurate are the glass bottles? Seems like a lot of work. You would have to zero each bottle to get the correct weights into the bottle. I can't believe that every bottle weighs the same. Not to mention the reason powder is no longer shipped or stored in glass....safety.

I bet those Krieger glasses are less than one MOA.... OK just kidding.

I think you may have miss understood the statement. He is weighing his powder charges on a scale and putting those weighed charges into a shot glass so that when he is ready to seat bullets he just grabs a pre weighed powder charge/shot glass and dumps the ole powder in the case and seats the bullet. 40mpowder charges and 40 shot glasses.

Correct me if am have misunderstood myself?

You are much better off using these polyethylene test tubes which I used to use at work. You can buy them in batches of 50 and they can be reused. They have a cap and unlike glass bottles will not break if you drop them.

I use little glass specimen bottles because they don't have any static electricity like plastic. These also have a screw on cap. Plus it was a free bee...290 count. I like the free part !! I had them for about 12 years now and haven't broken any...yet...knocking on wood !! I have thought about the light question for awhile now.

Okay...I'll stop overthinking it !! That makes it fun again !!

Thanx again,

Not to highjack the OP but awhile back I read about a vial that would fit in an MTM ammo box. Anyone know which vial and ammo box will work.

5 ml vials fit into a MTM R-100 series nicely. If you need for larger vials MTM makes 100 round caseholders to accomodate shotgun shells.
Glass vials are best, powder sticks to the plastic vials.

I got 100 10ml plastic vials. Inexpensive purchase. I wasn't really sure about size when I bought them, but they are too big though for transport and storage really, I'm going to get some 5ml.

Have not had any static problems with these tubes, powder empties easily into the case via a small funnel.
