Powder for 25-06 and 270win

Hey all, I am new to reloading and am looking for a powder that is available and will do well with 25-06 and 270win (and maybe a 30-06 in the future). I am trying to do all the research I can on it, and I thought I would put down my thoughts here in case anyone can help set me straight on what I get wrong. Everything on the list is available now. I have ordered them in order of how good they seem to me they are with best on top.

IMR Enduron 4451 - Looks good for all the calibers, well reviewed.

Vihtavuori N555 - People seem to really like this powder. Seems like it was developed for the 6.5 creedmore, which seems to me to be pretty similar to the 25-06. Has load data for rounds from 223 up to the 30-06, but none for 25-06 or 270 win. I guess I could probably try to figure out safe charges for those based on other similar powders.

Accurate 4064 - Looks pretty good for 270, but might be a little too fast burning for heavier bullets in the 25-06.

Hodgdon H322 - Seems like it is mostly used for smaller rounds, but has reloading data up to 308 Win.

Winchester 760 - Looks pretty good, but temperature dependent.

Hodgdon CFE 223 - Says it was formulate for 223 Remington, 22-250 Remington, and 308 Winchester, and get pretty good reviews from people who say the anti-copper fouling works well. Did see that it is very temperature dependent, which I don't like since we hunt in many conditions here in Montana.

Any thoughts from people who have experience with these would be great.

From your list VV N555 would be my choice in either rifle, IF you are shooting the "normal" heavy Big-Game bullets. However, having said that, NONE of those powders is what I would use if I could get my hands on something else. I will give you a list of the powders I would use: H4831sc, RL-23, VV N560>>>>or good but not GREAT: IMR 4831 (not very temp stable), RL-19 (same reason as before) and VV N160 (lower velocities) but pretty good. That should help you expand your list..
 
No mention of the projectile grain weight. I tend to heavy-for-caliber, so I usually lean to the slower powders. H4831SC on the fast end, IMR4955, RL26, IMR 7977, H1000 on the slow end. (I really like H1000....)

All of these are relatively temperature stable powders that handle variable Montana temperature swings well. It's usually colder during hunting season, and much warmer when working up a load.

H4831SC should work pretty good if you can find it. 4064 will work also. Have never used VV powder so I can’t say. I ran IMR 4350 in my .270 years ago and it worked good. I’ve seen that 4451 is liked a lot also. I thought about trying it but I have enough problems to deal with.

4831 H4350 Just mytwo cents. Tommy Mc
 
4451 will work well for both .270 and -06. I use 4451 near max in my 30-06, with 150 Interlocks at 3000 fps. It does not matter what powder you want to try, you still have to find it. Good luck. It won't get any better, either.
 
Don't have anything to add but just reading the list of all those aforementioned powders kind of tugs at my heart as I reminisce about the days gone by when they actually existed and were available. :confused:
 
I've used H4831sc with really good results, I have an extra 8lbs but you're in TX and I'm in KY. Good luck!
