I might be opening up a can of worms here, but for that, I appologize in advance.

I do have some experience in reloading, but it is very limited.

I was just morbidly curious as to which powder can be used in the most 30-06 reloading combinations (Case, Primer, Bullet weight, Bullet style, etc)

Probably IMR 4350.

Agree with Kracken, but do keep in mind one powder can't cover the wide range of bullets for a 30-06 perfectly. That said... IMR or H4350 comes real close....

Thanks for the input. I have seen in the current Lyman book that there are 5 powders that can be used in the 10 jacketed bullets listed, but I know there are much more types of combos out there.

IMR4320
IMR4350
IMR4381

I have long been dependent on 4064 for most of my loads.
Also use 3031 for the lighter stuff.
Those are the only powders I have used myself.

H4350 was designed for the 30-06, and works decent with all bullets from 125-220grn. Biggame, Hunter, Staball 6.5, RL17, can get higher velocities, mainly because with some bullets, you can't put enough H4350 in the case. As mentioned, it's also very hard to ignore Imr4064 or 4350. Even Imr4831, RL19, RL23, and H4831sc can work good, with bullets 215grn and heavier. Old-school ball powders work ok, like H380 and H414. If I stuck with bullets really suited to the 06, 150-200grn, my top 3 would be Imr4064, RL17, and Staball 6.5

I used to shoot a lot of IMR4064 over the years. Still a great choice, but I use H4350 nowadays... works as well...maybe even better depending on rifle.

IMR 4350 for bullets over 150 grs. in weight and IMR 4064 for 150 -155 grs. and lower bullet weights , is the general rule for the best results in the 30-06, from my experience. I think it's better not to try to use just one powder for all the different bullet weights when the difference is quite a bit between all the choices you have for different bullets with the 30-06. That is what is so great about the 30-06.
