Powder containers

Ok, I know we all store our powder in original containers, but what if I wanted to take say 1/4lb to the range along with portable reloading setup. What materials are suitable for transportation of smokeless powder, of should my original cannister fail for some reason, what would be a good alternate?

I just use an empty powder bottle that I've re-labeled to show what's currently in it. A large stick on label that was originally designed to label Floppy Disks on the side and on the cap.

Just make sure to re-label clearly if using an old powder container.

I use the original 1lb bottles, or, in a pinch, I use one of the plastic (1lb) bottles off the top of a MEC shotgun reloader if I don't have a 1lb container available. The MEC bottle can be closed with a normal soda bottle cap. In my powder locker, you will find many 8lb bottles with one or two 1lb bottles beside them. I use the 1lb bottles to go back and forth to the loading bench. Rarely take the 8lbers more than a few feet from the locker.

You don't need anything special for transporting smokeless powder. As long as it doesn't spill, gets wet or comes in direct contact with fire, you're good to go.

You can use ziplok bags, double up 2 of them, one inside the other.

Ha-ha, thanks all! I won't worry too much about it then. Not sure of the Pringles can though. That one looks full

I use those once-ubiquitous yellow plastic margarine tubs. They're not 100% waterproof or anything, but the lids don't pop off easily, they're stable in repose, and you can toss a couple of Lee powder dippers and even a small funnel in atop the powder.
