Powder ?? CFE BLK in 221 FB

That is the same load I shoot in my 20VarTargs. Little bitty 1 hole 5 shot groups and fantastic speeds. A bonus is both of mine shoot the same load!

I ended up trying the CFE BLK with 34 Dogtown FBHP, Rem 7 1/2 primers, new formed LC-to-221 brass, and had okay results, shot a ladder which might perform better with some further testing in finer increments, and seating depth tests, etc.

The speeds and SD results are in the bottom of each bullseye, for reference.

Why is it the best SD have the worst groups? I haven't been able to sort that out in my head but have seen it many times. I have some remanufactured 223 ammo that has es numbers over 100 but shoots as good as my best handloads at 100 yards. It makes no sense to me....
