Posting Time Stamp

Could we please have the posting time stamp done referenced to a real accurate clock set for a US time zone? Also could the time stamp be in useful format such as 2:30 PM PST?

Fred,

Good point you raised. Something's odd with the programming. We reloaded the database recently. The time was, by all indications, set to East Coast time, but it was off by a few hours. I had to select "Guam Time + 2 hours" time to get it to display correctly for Central Standard Time.

Our server's now in Texas and that would probably be a compromise since we can only select one time. The database isn't smart enough to automatically match post times to user time zone locations. However, you can set this manually...

If you go to your Profile > Look and Layout you can adjust the time stamp for your time zone. You can also change the way that time is displayed -- for example you can chose a 24-hour clock if you want.

I just updated my profile page to show the correct time, as I was still on PST-3 hours as I am in the EST.

Check it out, you can set the date to display how you want also.

OK, yesterday it was dead on, today it's off 2 hours.....I won't worry about setting my profile clock again.

Mike -- you didn't do anything wrong. I changed the default to central time -- that's why the 2 hour change. Before it was Pacific. I figured Central time was a better default time for all members (both east coast and west coast). You can still go to your profile and re-adjust your settings.

I must be having a senior moment so would you please tell us again what the basic time stamp setting is currently?

Guys...

I don't know why, but the time re-set itself last night and I didn't change the values at my end AT ALL.

It should be back on CST now.

That is WEIRD. Honest guys, I had it on CST and it changed itself.

Now I'm struggling to manually push it back far enough without sending it into the next day.

There's something going on with the server host in Texas that is shifting all the times.
