I'm looking at a spare stock for a new Model 70 to shorten the length of pull for a *non California approved* shooter... Assuming all else is equal (one piece bottom metal vs two, short vs long action); are all post '64 receivers the same? Can I buy a used 1980's ish stock and make it fit without undue trouble?

As in after new haven model 70? I think they will. I had one but sold it before tried my push feed action in it.

Yes. The rifle in question is a ~2015 mfg Baco... The donor would be an 80s vintage short action

I have a standard 30-06 length push feed stock available.
...are all post '64 receivers the same? ...
No. New Haven mfg standard length in all calibers, and an obscure, short lived push feed short action on the Ranger and youth models. After FN/BACO took over I believe they are different yet. Not 100% sure about those.
