Positioning a follower in single shot REM 700

Taking the plunge to build my own benchrest rifle. No issue on bedding the action. I understand all that. Using a Zermatt Origin action and just trying to wrap my head around getting the follower in the right spot to glue in place. Any pointers?

Are you wanting to epoxy the follower to the stock or into the action?

Think I would prefer it in the action. Reason I say that is, what if the wood stock cracks? What if I decide to go a different route down the road on a fiberglass stock? I have a beautiful wooded stock to use and I would prefer to have it in the action.

I normally don't epoxy them in the action...a piece of foam rubber under it works good. If it's a round bottom follower like a PTG, it's easy to make a flat on the bottom like the Sinclair style. If you decide to epoxy it in, I'd do the bedding first.

All I seen function was epoxied in action… just for that preference-

Take some tape to hold it and see if ya want the big deep end, or narrow end next to chamber for feeding.. then epoxy it in action.. I would use release agent on the action areas, as you “could remove it” or reinstall it if need be.. but rough out the follower let epoxy stick to it…
