Porters expander pins

Those who have the pins did you get + or - .0002”?Also , why did you choose one over the other?

Would you rather the pin to “possibly” either:
- slightly oversize (+) your case neck (less neck tension)
- slightly undersize (-) your case neck (more neck tension)

The pins come in 0.0005” increments, which is very exact especially for neck expansion. The +-0.0002” is a very small number. I bet most people air on conservative side and would prefer a tighter neck so -0.0002”.

Since we are dealing with sizing brass you can go either way. Whichever way you decide to go just be consistent whenever you buy additional gage pins so that the incremental movement is consistent in same direction.

Just pick one and don’t worry about it. It’s not that critical. I just order pins off Amazon and taper and polish the end.
