popularity of 325 WSM versus 8x68 S

How is the 325 WSM doing in the marketplace? Is it becoming established, or is it waning? Looking at other 8mms, the 8x68 S has been established for so long it is hard to imagine a day when no one makes brass for it.

The performance of the 325 WSM and 8x68 being quite similar, and wanting to go a little lighter than 338 WinMag if possible, the choice appears to be out of these two. The 338 Federal fits that bill too, but there is a question about its suitability at longer ranges.

How are the other WSMs doing, while we are near that topic.
Is the 7mm WSM popularity still lagging 300 WSM and 270 WSM?
It is unfortunate the 7mm doesn't have the same body as the 270 and 300.

What about the 338-06AI or the 8-06AI too for that matter?

The owner-to-be is looking for an off-the-shelf chambering for his first game gun. Personally, I like the idea of the 8mm-06,non-AI) though. I guess a mild AI,with say a 28 degree shoulder) wouldn't hurt.

I thought the 338-06 had graduated to the "official cartridge" status? It has been chambered by Weatherby and A-Square if I'm not mistaken? Great cartridge anyway and, with a Lapua Scenar or a Sierra Gameking) a lot more flat shooting than either the 8-06 or the Whelen...

338-06 flatter shooting than 8-06? Intriguing, I will have to play with a ballistics calculator on that when time permits.

I wasn't really sure what your question was to be honest.

How the take-up of the 325 WSM was coming along - does it look to be becoming established, or is its popularity going nowhere. I would have put a bet on someone having news on that one, but the secondary question of relative popularity of 325 vs 8x68 was more of a stretch.
In any case :-) it sure is interesting to have the virtues of neighbouring cartridges put forward.

You see at first I though it was about the popularity of the 325WSM but than you compared it to the 8x68 and the 338win mag and I wasn't sure if your real question was about the virtues of other similar capacity or sized cartridge hence the reason I offered up the 338-06 and 8-06 as options.
