Ponsness Warren 800 Plus 12 ga

Good morning all. Starting to refurbish a Ponsness Warren 800 Plus I got a few weeks back. My buddy is trying to talk me in to keeping it since my boys think ammo grows on trees. I don't reload (yet) but may have to give it a go at some point. Will refurbish an 800 B after the Plus.

Back in the 1970's my wife and I were shooting a lot and we literally wore an 800B out. We were buying reclaimed shot by the ton and picking up used AA wads at the range and running them through the washer in onion sacks. Biggest problem were the pins on the handle.

Quality reloader. Not quite in the league as Spolar, but highly thought of in the shotgun community. If you need some extra insight as you rebuild, there are Reloading forums on Shotgunworld.com and Trapshooters.com that would be great resources.

Download and print a manual from P.W. The 800b is no longer supported so parts might be difficult to find. I've had nothing but good dealings with the folks in Rathdrum for 10 years and at least 100,000 reloads. Good luck and take your time.

Thanks Jack. I'll definitely do that. I ordered one for the Plus, and that has been helpful. The Plus is all cleaned up and being put back together. Needed to replace a couple clips, a couple plastic bushings, and bought new powder and shot tubes for it.

If you need powder and shot bushings I have a pile of them.
I had all 4 gauges and no longer shoot but I have plenty of bushing choices.

John

Well, it's coming along. Just waiting for a few new pieces to show up to finalize it.
