Earlier this morning I filled out the poll on this site and then got to thinking about it. Is this poll a snap shot, an ideal, or the truth? Been a shooter all my life. Have spent $10,000 plus several times and many years far less. Retired 9 years ago at 55 and for the first 6 years shot 4 to 5 times per week (rifle, pistol, trap, skeet, and a little archery) and worked on my handloading, improvements, and just having fun. Built a rifle for long range IBS and life happened. My son for the past 2 years has been going through a nasty divorce. He has custody of my 2 grand daughters. He is a wonderful father and I could not be prouder of him. As a result I provide day care for my grand daughters. Not complaining, it is a privilege. My sons play baseball 4 and 5 nights per week with some travel. Sometimes I find myself in uniform coaching, but mainly supervising the kids play area. Several women show up at the games to watch him play and attempt start a relationship with him. They are constantly fawning over my grand daughters. My son has a good head on his shoulders and politely rebuffs them. Today my household chores and grand kids have put a sizable dent in my shooting activities. There is finally light at the end of the tunnel and I hope to get back to business as usual. I guess when I filled out the poll, I was thinking with heart instead of my head.
