POLL: Wet tumbler VS traditional dry tumbler

Just for fun lets do a poll here.... how many use a wet tumber and stainless media vs a dry tumber and corncob or walnut type medias... or, other... then post what you do... itd be interesting to see!

GO!!

Dry up till now. Am considering getting a wet-media tumbler.

Some forums have a poll feature where you can actually set up a poll, with members simply checking off their response. Don't know whether this forum has that feature.

Thumbler tumbler model b with stainless steel media water and lemi-shine. I have the old vibrating tumbler also but rarely use it.

Seems to me that unless you own both the wet and dry tumblers, you shouldn't vote. I use a wet tumbler but don't really know if it's performance is better, worse or the same as a dry tumbler.

Old fashioned vibratory tumbler here. I guess I ought to step into the 21st century, but I'm slow I guess.

Once I had a wet tumbling setup I never looked back. Can't stand the dust from the traditional corncob/walnut tumbling.

Also, nothing says you have to run the wet tumbler for a couple of hours until your brass looks factory new. Your brass will be clean enough after 20 minutes or so, cleaner than overnight in a walnut tumbler, just not shiny. Afterwards, i just fish out the brass onto a towel, roll it around until it's mostly dry on the outside, then it goes into a wire colander on top of my AC compressor and will be bone dry in about an hour. In the winter I just pop them in the oven standing up at 150 degrees for a couple of hours.

Wet STM tumbler and ultrasonic cleaner. Stainless seems to work brass a little more than I like, I get better ES/SD from ultrasonic cleaning. I think maybe because it leaves just a little carbon on the inside of the neck.

For drying using a food dehydrator, dedicated to doing so (some soot gets left over with ultrasonic cleaning). 2 hours @ 135F, on a timer.

Wet, rotary tumbler & SS media. Too darn easy, no dust.

Haven't used walnut / corn + vibrator (save for cleaning 'new' 6mm bullets prior to hBN-coating) since about 2010.

2 RCBS SideWinders Tumblers
usually running simultaneously to accomplish tasks at hand-
I should have installed an hour meter on these 35+yrs ago-

1 drum for StainlessTumblingMedia(wet)
1 drum for treated Walnut(dry)
1 drum for un-treated corn cob(dry)
1 drum for Moly(dry)
1 drum for HbN(dry)
1 drum for Carnuba Wax(dry)

What no Sonic cleaners in this poll? Maybe you're just looking for who's in 2nd place ;) ;) Sonic (clean) and Vibratory (polish) 2 steps I know, but I think a better finished product.

Dry for me.

Concerened that the SS media (pins) work hardens the brass.

Takes two hours to clean in my dry tumbler.

The inside of the brass looks much better from the wet process as far as cleanliness goes.
