Poll: Fclass shooters

Very rare to find a Benchrest shooter that doesnt use a Wilson type seater. I use them for everything. Theres another benefit to them. You shoot a lot of rounds in f-class. My 284 liked .004" off the lands. If your using your arbor press, you can seat all you bullets long, then when you clean your rifle each night you can measure the throat movement and seat the next days bullets so you can maintain the jump number throughout the whole match. I cant imagine loading 400 rounds and just shooting with out chasing the lands.

This is what I do at a multi day match where you shoot 300 or 400 rounds. When you load long for this purpose, do you load really long, or .005 or .010 long? Either way, it feels weird when I reseat them to final length. I guess it takes some force to put the bullets in motion again, but I always find myself wondering if I am jacking up my neck tension by doing this, but I am a chronic over thinker, too. Can't help it. I'm wired that way.

I would load like .050" long. Record sized groups are shot on a regular basis with bullets seated long, then final seated. Your not jacking neck tension.

Russell, you'd be ahead waiting to prime and measure powder the night before also. Change in humidity with elevation and barometric pressure fluctuations can disturb powder weights and really screw up your A&D. Also, try a shot of WD-40 in your case necks after you throw the powder, really helps with neck tension.

Anything else I can help you with just ask!
