Polk County, NC Gun Club 100 Yard Group Shoot

The Polk County Gun Club invites you to:
May 31st 2015 Benchrest Group Shoot
Starts at Noon.
May 31st – 100 Yard Group Shoot
The last Sunday in May is a 100 yard group shoot.
Custom and Varmint rifles will shoot 5 targets – 5 shots each.
Factory-Hunting type rifles with tapered barrels will shoot 5 targets with 3 shot groups.
Groups will be measured edge to edge minus the diameter of your bullet caliber.
Any cartridge with BR, BRX, Dasher, PPC, etc. is a custom rifle.
.222, 223, 243, .270, 7mm, 308 etc. is factory hunting class rifle.
Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each class - Custom, Varmint, and Factory-Hunting.
Cost to enter will be $20 per gun and you can enter as much as you like.
International Benchrest Shooters Association (IBS) rules, targets, and scoring for the match.
Sighter targets will be available too !

This is not an IBS sanctioned match but the club is going to try and hold an IBS group match sometime in 2016.
We started the benchrest matches about a year ago and now we are having 3 relays.
IBS or Polk County Gun Club Membership is NOT necessary for these matches. All welcome !

Thanks for your interest in holding IBS group matches. I would be interested in a 2 day 2 yardage event. Would love to attend your May 31st shoot but distance is a problem for a 1 yardage event.

Wish us luck with our shoots. It is a goal to hold an IBS sanctioned group shoot in 2016. The club is going to hold our first F-Class match in June.

You need to give some good directions how to and where the range is, with motels, rest., gas etc. If you want to have a good match you have to promote it ! Good luck.

Our third match in the Summer League is this Sunday.
Due to requests we are adding a hunting rifle class. This is a great opportunity to bring out your favorite deer rifle and get it tuned up before the hunting season begin.
Hunting class rifles will also qualify for awards at next months final Summer League match !
