Not sure I want to do this, but it is not a 'high dollar' gun.
Procedure and tips, anyone???

Brownells, flex hone , follow the PDF directions. Works well on neglected 22s with extraction issues

Wrap a piece of music wire with masking tape to get the right diameter and use 320 wet or dry with WD or Rem oil for lube. Use a Dremel and keep it centered up.

LISTEN to Dusty on this one.

Rimfire chambers can be ironed with a hob, but you don't have one. Options are to have it set back, get a new barrel, or just get used to it.

If you have some skill it's not that hard. I've done many dozens of rim fire chambers over the years and never effed one up. But then again I had a shop and did it for a living. And it depends on if he's trying to fix damage from a firing pin rim strike or a rough chamber extraction problem. 2 different issues and repairs.

Don't do it , very little difference between a good chamber and one that needs the barrel set back .
What is the issue? Maybe a little background will help getting you in the right direction

Ya get what ya pay for. I have seen several .22’s on the cheap that the chamber is so far off center of the bore you can see it with the naked eye.

For a $2-300 rig, set back and rechamber. Is it really worth it?
I recall some guys playing with the chipmunk pistols for
IHMSA. Put a wad of money in it, make it shoot a whole lot better. End up saving $100 off of an Anshutz.

To eachs own.

Thanks all for your replies. Those postings of caution, have me re-considering, so I am going to leave things alone.

I just did 2 ruger 17 HMR's. New guns wouldnt extract. Called ruger they sent new extractors, didn't help. Sent guns to ruger they came back with new bolts ( with very sharp edges). Same problem both guns. My LGS offered a refund. I decided to try polishing. I used a bore mop ( 20 ga?) and some flitz metal polish on a short cleaning rod with a drill. Tested after 5 min of polishing and after a total of 30 min each, both guns have extracted over 400 rounds flawlessly. Oh when ruger sent the guns back they gave me a small cleaning towel with their logo on it!
