Dan is quite reasonable in his pricing. I don't know how long it takes him to do the job but for the difference it can make in the way a rifle performs, it is well worth the price. My bolts have about .005 clearance which is only part of the equation. The extraction cam also must be rotated to the correct position when the lugs clear their seats in order to get maximum extraction.

Sounds like headspace would have to be adjusted after all that. I've about convinced myself w barrel nut is the way to go ( for most situations) after all the problems that can arise which also cause headspace issues after correction. The gun has a 400$ cerakote job on it, adjusting headspace or even shipping or unscrewing the barrel would be a costly nightmare.

Re-timing does not change the headspace. The bolt doesn't move. The handle is removed and relocated on the bolt. It's THE time to get rid of a factory Remmy handle, too.

Yep, no change in headspace. If the bolt and handle are coated you probably would want to have it resprayed but it wouldn't be absolutely necessary. That's why any rifle should be thoroughly function tested before any finishing is done. Dans work is pretty tidy. He removes the bolt handle, jigs it up to the correct spot, tacks it on, checks it for function and then tigs it in place. In the case of a blued bolt you can see that there has been some heat in the part, but in the work he has done for me the blueing is still intact so that it's not offensive to the eye. Again, there is no need to sent the entire rifle, or even the receiver. All he needs is the bolt.

I'm sure you have checked this but I have a 6mm Cooper and it does this if the case necks are a bit too long.
