point of impact.

What makes a scope lose it's point of impact. I have one of the first Premier boosted leupold, 20x50x40, maybe over 30 years old. Know one will fix these scope, I believe. What should I do? Any suggestions? It was a very good scope. nilebartram

Have you confirmed that everything is tight and no other problems? I subscribe to the KISS method of diagnosing problems before moving on to more complex solutions. It's easy to overlook the little things sometimes. If it proves to be a scope problem others have given good advice, already.

Please explain exactly what happens , when , any recent changes , any bumps falls or like .
Please use PM or my email = ggmac5@aol.com
Thanks , Gary

Nile, The erector spring has failed. It has happened to so many boosted priemier scopes. Mine failed right after the owner ( Dick passed away) and his son was absolutely no help. I even offered to purchase the springs.

dkhunt14: Matt: Leupold will not do any repair work on any Leupold scope that has been modified by Premier, or anyone else. They have made that clear many times over, the statement under "Warrenty exclusions" on their web site, being just one.

They go back and forth with that as i recently recieved back 2 tucker modified 36x scopes from their repair center. Next week they may not or the next guy answering the phone may not.

They fixed a couple of guys at the club but they took the bump out. It still is a Leupold scope. That was a few years ago but they fixed them. The new ownership might not because they don't send us scopes anymore for our big shoot. The letter they sent said it was not in their best interest.

Want to thank everybody for the replies. I took another scope to the range, it did the same thing. When the barrel heats, up the point of impact changes. The barrel is touching the stock.. I put this stock on to break in the barrel, because the other stock was not ready. Did not realize that the barrel touching the stock, could do so much. Thanks, nilebartram
