Getting a scope boosted

Can someone explain to me the advantages and disadvantages of getting a scope boosted? I have leupold vari-x 3 6.5-20-50 30mm tube. I was looking to get it boosted. Everyone talks about premier boosting, but I heard they aren't in the business anymore? Does anyone know of anyone good out there...and what it costs.

thanks

Dick Thomas was the only person I'm aware of that boosted variable Leupold's. Since he passed away, there is no one left. Wally Seibert and Bill Ackerman boost fixed power scopes.

Premier Reticles,Dick Thomas) used to boost the power on Leupold fixed power and variable scopes, but because of problems between Premier and Leupold they no longer work on them. It's a real shame because Premier did a great job. Many competitors have used them with great success.

I don't believe that anybody is doing power boosting on variable scopes at this time.

On Benchrest.com there is an outfit selling "optical enhancers".

They essentially screw onto the ocular of certain scopes and 'enhance' the view. I believe there is a 35% power boost with it.

The advantage is that you screw it on and off yourself, much like a sun shade).

I don't know that much about them though.
I have a Boosted Lupy in 20-50,8.5-25 LR) and really like it, but I had it done before Premier stopped doing the boosts.
